Personality: Shouhei is full of smiles and cheer most of the time. It seems like next to nothing can stop him from being cheerful or optimistic. It draws people to him, like his best friend Bandou, and the members of HOMRA. He has an almost immediate connection with most people he meets, and people see the best in him. He’ll sit and shoot the wind with everyone in HOMRA from the moment he gets in. On occasion, his cheerfulness grows into over-friendliness, and it’ll piss some people (mostly Bandou) off. There’s also some strong foot-in-mouth going on with Shouhei, where he’ll say the first thing on his mind
The cheerfulness gets mixed nicely with him being quite oblivious. He misses things, and doesn’t understand everything that comes across in actions or even words. He kisses a girl Bandou has a crush on, just because she wanted to kiss him (this is when they were much younger). When he’s first joined HOMRA, and Bandou explains how it works to him, he completely doesn’t understand it one bit, ending every explanation with a ‘Ha…?’ He’s, however, not stupid. When it comes to strategy, and searching a place out, he’s second to none in that category, completely researching a gang before going in for a sneak attack.
Even though he can get fully prepared, Shouhei is still the worst combination of heroic and overconfident, mixed with reckless. When a friend needs him to do something, he goes in and does it, no matter what the cost to himself might be, even if it so happens to be a dangerous, drug dealing gang. Worst of all, despite how well he prepared for this, for the sake of his friend, he was willing to do it alone, and needs a friend to chase him to snap him out of that mindset. When he hears something going wrong, he springs into action, after starting with a plan.
The sense of loyalty he has is very strong. Towards his friends, he’s willing to do anything, and everything for them. Eventually, as time goes on, he gets this towards HOMRA as a whole, but his female friend from the beginning gets his strongest loyalty. He’d pretty much risk his life to get her out of the dangerous situation she’s found herself in, and does, almost losing his life in the process of it. Without the back up of HOMRA, or Bandou, he might not have made it out alive.
The relationship between him and Saburouta Bandou is one of mutual respect, in the weirdest way. No matter what Bandou does, Shouhei never thinks of him negatively. He only sees the positives that Bandou has, which is something that no one else seems to be able to do. On the other hand, Bandou is the one who comes to his side in the worst times, when he’s done something stupid. Getting caught in a river, or nearly getting his ass kicked by a gang of drug dealers, Bandou is always there to lend a hand.
Abilities: Shouhei is a member of the Red Clan, and as such, has the red aura inside of him. It manifests itself in the form of fire. He uses his aura to create fire balls. The aura also increases his speed and agility, and he can use it to enhance his weaponry.

Why?: Shouhei follows, rather than leads. With his recklessness, he’s far more suited to be controlled by someone, rather than being in control.
